We have a registered copy of Snood 3 on Mac OS 9.1. It was working just fine. It's a long story why, but we reverted to OS 9.0.4 and then upgraded back to OS 9.1. Since then we have a problem with the Snood Menus. It does not occur when a game is paused - only when there is no game in progress.
The problem is that if we click a menu (say Game) the menu appears directly under the menu bar, but as the mouse is moved down to make a selection the menu is overlayed incrementally with another copy lower down and a bit right - within the game window. In fact, if the mouse is moved enough right and left, the Difficulty, Preferences, etc. menus will open in this lower position.
I have tried everything I can think of including trashing the Snood game and preferences and reinstalling it from scratch.
This may be caused by some Finder or Control Panel setting that got changed, but I haven't a clue as to what or how to fix it.
Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Geez, sorry about that - it sounds really annoying. I haven't heard of this kind of thing before.
When you get the double menu, can you still make selections, or are you unable to choose what you want?
When you downloaded the new version, did you get version 3.0 again, or version 3.52? There were some major differences between those two versions.
As a quick lame fix, all the major functions of the game have a keyboard shortcut, so you should be able to use most of it if you can remember those (e.g. Command-N for new game, Command-A for abort, Command-Q to quit, Command-1 through Command-8 for game difficulty).
Sorry again about the trouble - I hope the above helps - let me know how it goes.
Sincerely,
Dave

You can make selections on the "new" overlayed menu, but it's awkward because the menu doesn't appear all at once; the "lower" selections only appear as you move the mouse down to where they would be, but if you then move the mouse to a position above the new menu but still within the Snood window, and then right and left without clicking, the various Game, Difficulty, Preferences, etc. menus appear in their entirety in the lower position below the cursor.
Also, as new menus appear, residue of the previous menus remains on the screen and everything looks cluttered. The Snood window doesn't refresh until you ultimately make a menu selection.
This is Snood 3.0 for Macintosh downloaded yesterday from the web site. I don't see a 3.52 there.
And yes, keyboard shortcuts help, but not everything has a shortcut (e.g. Puzzle Preferences).
I don't think this is Snood per se, but rather some interaction between Snood and the OS that probably could be fixed by some OS preferences or control panel setting, but I don't have a clue as to what that would be. We haven't seen this with any other application though.
BTW, this also occurs on this machine with a freshly installed Snood with it's newly created default preferences before entering the registration code.

Oops - yeah, version 3.52 isn't out for Mac yet - my bad. I'm working on version 4 now, and I'll do an OS9 version if possible, but I don't know if I can pull it off. I'll definitely have an OSX version.
I really don't know what's going on there - I wish I could be more help, but without being able to see it or having other info from others, I just don't know what's up. If you learn anything that helps, please post here so others can learn.
If you want to try one of the older versions of Snood, that might work better - e.g. http://www.snood.pair.com/snood21.hqx
