Puzzle Level 17

Have been playing Snood for years, but just ventured into the Puzzles the other day. I somehow got through Level 17 twice, but it was accidental...I'm stumped as to how to knock out the open-ended pods at the top.

Would someone please give me some hints? Would be MUCH appreciated! (-:

to win you just have to clear the colored snoods from inside the open pods on the top :)
